Data Deletion

Last updated: August 20, 2026

This page explains how to delete your Switch account and the personal information associated with it, what happens after you ask, and the limited records we are required to keep. It applies to Direct Care Source, LLC DBA Switch (“Switch”).

For the full picture of what we collect and why, see our Privacy Policy.

How to delete your account

Option 1 — Delete it yourself in the Switch app (fastest)

  1. Open the Switch app and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Tap Delete Account.
  4. Confirm when prompted.

Your account is closed immediately and you are signed out. You will no longer be able to see or claim shifts, and your profile will no longer be visible to facilities.

Option 2 — Ask us to delete it

If you can’t access the app, or you’d rather we handle it, contact us and ask for account deletion. Tell us the name and email address or phone number on the account so we can find it.

We may need to verify your identity before we act on the request. That protects you — it keeps someone else from deleting your account and your work history.

How long it takes

Deleting through the app closes your account right away. For requests sent to us directly, we respond within 45 days. If a request is complex and we need more time, we will tell you before the 45 days are up and may take up to 90 days total.

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, we remove or de-identify the personal information we hold to run your account and match you with shifts, including:

  • Your profile — name, contact details, photo, and work preferences
  • Your credentials and documents on file, other than those tied to shifts you already worked (see below)
  • Your saved settings, notification preferences, and app activity
  • Your visibility to facilities — your profile stops appearing entirely

What we have to keep, and why

We can’t delete everything, and we’d rather say so plainly than promise otherwise. Some records have to be retained because the law requires it or because they document work that actually happened. These include:

  • Pay and tax records. Payments made to you, and the tax documents that go with them, are business and tax records we are required to retain.
  • Records of shifts you worked. Facilities are accountable to regulators for who provided care in their building and when. Those records document real work at a real facility and cannot be unwound after the fact.
  • Credentialing and screening records connected to completed shifts. Where a credential or screening was the basis for you working a specific shift, the record of it stays attached to that shift.
  • Records needed to resolve a dispute or meet a legal obligation. If there is an open question about payment, an incident, or a legal claim, we keep what is necessary until it is resolved.

We keep these records only as long as we are required to, and we don’t use them to market to you or to keep your profile active. When the retention obligation ends, they are deleted.

Deleting specific information instead of your whole account

You don’t have to delete your entire account to correct or remove specific information. You can review and update much of your profile directly in the app, or contact privacy@switchcare.com and tell us what you’d like changed or removed.

Facilities and other users

If you use Switch on behalf of a healthcare facility rather than as a provider picking up shifts, email privacy@switchcare.com and we’ll walk you through the right process for your organization’s account.

App stores and connected platforms

Deleting your Switch account removes your information from Switch. It does not delete anything held by Apple or Google as part of your app store account — those are managed in your device settings.

Switch does not use Facebook Login, and we do not receive profile information about you from Meta. If you arrived here from an app platform’s data deletion link, the instructions above are the way to have your Switch data deleted.

Questions

If anything here is unclear, or you asked for deletion and haven’t heard back, email privacy@switchcare.com or call (940) 566-1720. A person will get back to you.
